LeTourneau University, an interdenominational, evangelical Christ-centered institution of higher learning, seeks an innovative, experienced engineering administrator to serve as Dean of the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology. The Dean must have extensive experience in higher education, especially in academic leadership to direct and oversee the University’s expansive engineering programs and projects.

Reporting to the Provost, the Dean serves on the University’s Academic Council. The senior administrator will continue the School’s commitment to offering engineering programs that prepare students with professional knowledge and skills as well as an understanding of the needs of the world and the passion to make a difference through engineering.

The School of Engineering and Engineering Technology has approximately 500 students and 22 faculty and awards the Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Associate of Science and Master of Science in Engineering. Degrees are offered with concentrations in biomedical, civil, computer, electrical, materials joining and mechanical. In addition, the School offers the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology degree with concentrations in aeronautical-electrical, aeronautical-mechanical, electrical, materials joining and mechanical, as well as an Associate of Science degree in Design Technology.

All programs in the School are accredited by ABET.

The engineering and engineering technology programs are highly project oriented. With access to cutting-edge equipment and laboratories, students have opportunities to design operational prototypes throughout the curriculum.

Responsibilities
Among the responsibilities and duties of the Dean of Engineering and Engineering Technology are:
- Aligns the School’s priorities with the University Strategic Plan
- Develops and maintains strong partnerships with alumni, industry and donors
- Oversees the recruitment, development, and performance of faculty
- Achieves enrollment growth with new program development and successful implementation of recent initiatives, which include civil engineering and the graduate program

Qualifications
The Dean of Engineering and Engineering Technology should be a visionary leader with an earned doctorate in engineering. This individual is expected to demonstrate a maturing personal faith in Jesus Christ, modeling an integration of faith and learning, and engaging the broader evangelical Christian community.

Other qualifications include:
- A record of excellence in administration including strategic planning, budgeting and team-building
- Ability to provide innovative leadership internally while advancing the School externally
- Outstanding academic and professional experience with a demonstrated track record in effective teaching and noteworthy research
- Enthusiasm for meeting the changing needs of traditional residential students while developing the significant opportunities in educating non-residential engineering students
- Significant understanding of the profession and the competencies to be required of future professional engineers
- A strong appreciation for Christian higher education and the unique strategic vision of LeTourneau University

At LeTourneau, athletics is a vital and integral part of the educational process. LeTourneau is a member of the American Southwest Conference, NCAA Division III. More than 200 student athletes participate in the six Men’s sports - baseball, basketball, cross-county, golf, soccer and tennis - and seven Women’s sports – basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball.

The Longview campus is primarily residential. More than 85 percent of the students participate in one or more of the intramural sports.

The 162-acre main campus is located in Longview, Texas, a progressive hub city with an MSA of 200,000, nestled among the beautiful pine-forested hills and lakes of East Texas. Longview is approximately 120 miles east of Dallas, Texas, and 60 miles west of Shreveport, Louisiana.
