Senior Marketing Manager

Pacific McGeorge School of Law is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager. Reporting directly to the Assistant Dean for Advancement, External Relations and Career Development, the Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for law school communications and marketing efforts, including but not limited to publications (both print and electronic), media relations and story placement, advertising, and message development.
Duties and Accountabilities:
• Establish, coordinate and execute marketing and public relations plan for the law school. Collaborate with law school administrators to ensure all department and other constituency efforts are integrated into overall plan.
• Supervise the work of Publications & Media Relations Manager and Marketing & Communications Writer, and outside contractors to successfully plan and implement overall marketing plan. Manage marketing workload within marketing plan and budget.
• Articulate law school’s image by developing, implementing and maintaining a communications strategy.
• Plan and manage strategies and activities to promote the law school though media contact. Serve as media spokesperson to maximize the image and public awareness of the law school.
• Collaborate with other campus administrators (and University colleagues) to maintain and implement, as needed, a law school crisis communications plan. Identify public relations problems, and provide guidance in solutions.
• Stay current with marketing and public relations trends and best practices.
• Update, maintain and recommend solutions for optimizing the communication of events to the internal and external audiences.
• Design and administer market and constituent research, including surveys and focus groups, analyzing results and recommending strategies to meet law school admissions, marketing, fundraising, and career placement objectives.
• Ensure visual and verbal consistency of materials produced by the law school.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience in marketing and public relations, and alumni or constituent relations, preferably in a higher education environment. Masters in Communication, Public Relations or related fields, or equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
• Knowledge of higher education administration, alumni relations, public and media relations, marketing, strategic communications, and project, budget and staff management required. Familiarity with business computing, websites and electronic presentation media also important.
• Knowledge of legal and/or higher education a plus.
• Must have experience with Adobe Creative Suite 3 or above; Flash, html and web Content Management Systems; Press-production process; Social Media.
