Samuel Merritt University

Samuel Merritt University, originally founded in 1909 as a hospital school of nursing, is a fully accredited health sciences institution located in Oakland, California. Samuel Merritt offers undergraduate degrees in nursing and graduate degrees in nursing, physical therapy, physician assistant, podiatric medicine, and occupational therapy. The baccalaureate nursing program is offered cooperatively with Saint Mary's College of California in Moraga. Samuel Merritt University is an affiliate of Sutter Health and Alta Bates-Summit Medical Center.

School of Nursing

With campuses in Oakland, Sacramento, San Francisco and San Mateo, Samuel Merritt School of Nursing graduates the largest number of license-eligible students in California. The school’s expanding nursing programs include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), a 12-month Accelerated BSN, and an Entry-level Master’s.
